In Beth and George Gage's a documentary of the 10th Mountain Division "Fire on the Mountain" the veterans speak of a "...great common love of the mountains" shared by all the mountain soldiers regardless of nationality. In 1988 they formed the International Federation of Mountain Soldiers an organization dedicated to world peace. Regardless of our differences we share one defining characteristic, a deep and abiding respect for the mountains in which we live.
